The Bible

Year after year the Bible remains the world's bestselling book, yet increasingly its contents, especially in "the West", are less well known than in previous generations, even amongst the highly educated.

For many the Bible is an archaic religious book of little relevance, if any, to life in the 21st century.  So why bother with it?

Beyond that, books, like Dan Brown's bestselling The Da Vinci Code, argue that there are alternative explanations to its origins, rejecting its claims to be Divine revelation ("The Word of God"), and rejecting its portrait of Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God.

Clearly both views cannot be correct.  And the implications are certainly not inconsequential.

What should we think?  To where does the evidence point?

Here are a few sites that will help you deepen your knowledge of the Bible as you explore these questions and claims.
